Osun 2022: Chief Imam Of Ife Urges Muslims To Vote For Competent Candidate

Ahead of the today's governorship election, the Chief Imam of Ife Land,  Shaykh Abdus-Sami Abdul-Hamid Muhamadur-Raji II has urged the Muslims in the Osun State to to vote for competent candidate and not because of religion or any political party. 


He made this known in an interview with our newsmen at the weekend. 

Describing the introduction of lexicons such as Christian-Christian or Muslim-Muslim into the Nigeria political landscape as hypocritical and a misplaced priority, he said the religion of a party’s flagbearer should ordinarily not matter.

He called on electorate to vote for the candidates who can successfully steer the Osun ship in the right direction in the forthcoming governorship elections.


He said the state needs competent leader who can salvage electorates from trying moments irrespective of religious or political parties’.

“We should not be widening out fault lines by placing undue emphasis on the religious persuasion of individuals standing for elections. All these are not solving our problems."

The Islamic scholar however, urged the Muslims to utilize the blessings of the Dhul Hijjah and pray for the peace and unity in the state and Nigeria at large.

My throne doesn't affected with Kingship case transfer to Osun - Salu of Edunabon

  The Salu of Edunabon, His Royal Majesty Kehinde Oladepo Adesoji, Akinrinsa 11, has reaffirmed that his throne doesn't affected with Kingship case transfer from Court of Appeal, Akure, to Osun. HRH Adesoji stated this in a phone conversation with Pressmen on Thursday. He said that there were three Kingsmaker in Edunabon Olosi, Monigbere and Olukotun, adding that Olosi was appointed in Sept 30,2015, Monigbere died in 2006 and was not replaced before former Salu, Oba Elijah Omoboye joined his ancestors. According to him, HRM Omoloye passed away on Aug 4, 2017 and Emmanuel Olaniyan, Olukotun, also died on Nov 30,2017, three months after the demised of Late Salu,Oba Elijah Omoloye died.    Prof. Adebusuyi Adeniran, a Professor of Migration and Development Sociology, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has called for urgent need to rebrand Nigeria immigration service (NIS)for true structure and responsibilities. Adeniran stated this during the 407th Inaugural Lecture of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, at Odududwa Hall, on Tuesday, in Ile-Ife. The theme was:"Migralusion: A Mix-Transnational Theory of 'Japa' Culture".
