The Grand Chief Imam of Oyo, Dr. Mas’ud Abd Ganiyy Adebayo (Ajokidero III) is dead.  Details about his death is still sketchy at the moment but the post on the verified Facebook page of the Chief Imam confirmed his demise.  It stated, "As salaam alaykum. InnaLillah wainna Ilaihu raajiun. WE ANNOUNCE THE DEMISE OF THE GRAND CHIEF IMAM OF OYO. May Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaos  Amen."

Respected Islamic scholar and author, Sheikh Najeemdeen Adegbite Binuyo is dead. Sheikh Binuyo, a renowned author, scholar, and well-respected broadcast journalist died a few hours into Tuesday, 24 January 2023. He was aged 96. Sheikh Binuyo’s death was announced by the Lagos Mainland Muslim Community with details of his burial scheduled for Tuesday, 24 January 2023. The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Monday, January 23, as the first day of Rajab 1444AH. The Sultan had earlier called on all Muslims in Nigeria to look out for the new moon of the Rajab 1444AH. A renowned Islamic media agency in Nigeria, Dpath To Jannah Media Hub has postponed her second edition of media seminar.  The seminar, which was earlier scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, will now hold on  Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Ibikunle Lawal College, Ile Ife, Osun State.  The media hub stated this in a statement made available to newsmen by its director, Mr. Sodiq Lawal on Thursday. Markazud Da'awah To Resume Modrasah Activities On Jan 20, Announces Date For Exam The Markazud Da'awah has announced January 20th, 2023 as the date to resume her Modrasah activities.  This was revealed in a statement on Wednesday made available by the director of the Modrasah, Ustadh Lukman Isa.  The director of the Modrasah also announced January 21st, 2023 as the date to commence the madrasah examination.

A man has been caught watching football inside a mosque during sermon. While reacting, an aide to the governor of Borno state, Dogo Shettima, has asked parents to concentrate on raising "good children."   He gave this charge while reacting to a trending photo of a young man watching a football match inside a mosque while the Imam was preaching. Posting the photo online, Shettima wrote; ''Innalillahi waa inna ilaihir raji’un  Where are we heading to? A former General Secretary of Markazud Da’awah Wathaqofatil Islamiyyah, Ojomo AbdulQudus Abiola has bagged a Master's Degree in Pharmacology at the 53rd convocation of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).  A statement by the university Information Unit revealed that AbdulQudus graduated with 4.78 GPA at the class of 2020/2021 session.  Congratulations have begun to pour in on social media.  AbdulQudus was a pharmacy graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University and a former president of Torch Bearer Club, OAU chapter. Movie producer and rapper, Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz has reverted to Islam as indicated by his recent moves. Sharing a video via his Instagram, the estranged husband of ace actress, Funke Akindele who has recently been announced as the Peoples Democratic Party’s deputy governorship candidate in Lagos, stated that he was already lost but now found. A Professor of Neurological Physiotherapy at the University of Ibadan, Prof Tal-Hatu Kolapo Hamzat is dead.  It was learnt that the renowned professor died in the early hours of Wednesday.  He was known as a Muslim Physiotherapist who always identifies as Muslim and defends Islam at the University.  While announcing his death in a statement by Dr Nina Nnenna, the President of Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy, said, "It is with a great sense of loss and sadness we are writing this concerning one of our most brilliant and beloved Physiotherapist, an erudite scholar and Professor of Neurological Physiotherapy. The ancient town of Ikire in Osun State has appointed a new grand Chief Imam to pilot the affairs of the Muslim community.  Sheikh Muslim Dimeji Oladiran emerged on Saturday as the new Chief Imam of Ikire after the demise of his predecessor.  A glance through his profile shows that Sheikh Muslim Dimeji Oladiran is an Assistant Chief Agriculture Office at Osun State Local Government Service Commission before his emergence as the Chief Imam.  Details later!

The remains of the late Grand Chief Imam of Ikire land, Fadhilat Shiekh Al Imam Alhaji Muhd Raji Ajibade have been buried according to Islamic rites.  The deceased was buried at his residence in Ikire town.  The  body, which arrived at his residence around 4:30pm was buried  at about 5pm. The burial was witnessed by top government functionaries, civil servants and other residents of Ikire who wept uncontrollably. The late Grand Chief Imam of Ikire land, Fadhilat Shiekh Al Imam Alhaji Muhd Raji Ajibade's burial will hold today (Friday). Details of what will happen have been announced by the leagues of Imams.  It was learnt that the deceased would be buried according to Islamic rites after Salatul Asr (4pm).  Salatul Jannazah would be performed on the deceased at the Eid praying ground in Ikire.  Discussions are presently ongoing to either bury the deceased at his residence or Muslim cemetery in Ikire.

The Grand Chief Imam of Ikire land, Fadhilat Shiekh Al Imam Alhaji Muhd Raji Ajibade is dead.    It was learnt that the Chief Imam died on Thursday evening.  In a statement by the  Okunola'e Family Mufasir Agba Of Isokan Local Government Baba Mufty, they commiserated with the Ikire League of Imams and Alfas and all Muslims in Ikire Kingdom on the death of the Grand Imam.  They however prayed that may Allah forgive all his shortcomings and make Aljanat Firdaoz His final abode.
