POEM: "God Of Beauty Where Art Thou?" By Oso Maryam A.

Image
Watching the radiance of her hijab, the reflection Emitted from the nourished sunray; As the gentle wind appreciated her kajaled doe-eyes,  Whispering "MashaAllah" as he danced round her Slightly nictitating her long thick lashes whilst murmuring her Lord's name. Sitting gracefully on her nior niqab came the clipping sound of a butterfly, Reciprocating the radiance on its colourful wings on her milky skin.  Smiling as tranquility filled her heart  Taking over her arteries, Whilst her glassy sight mirrored the greeny lawn. Lifting her gaze off the lawn, only to meet the magnifying star, Shining bright as she brandishes every creature; With her saturation. Indeed, each carries its beauty! Wide-eyed, she hollaed; " God of beauty where art thou?" Just then He crept into her psyche: "Is not He who created the Heaven and Earth able to create the like of them? Aye, that He is! For He's the All-Wise Creator!" Indeed, each carries its beauty as ...

Hijab: A Symbolism Of Devotion By Abduljeleel Kabeeroh Oluwakemi

The hijab in its entirely is the belief that as a Muslim, one must try to diligently live every day in respect of Allah, with modesty, and show devotion to the religion as a whole. The Hijab is Iman (Belief or Faith). It is an act of completing your Iman.  'A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, addressed some women from the tribe of Banu Tamim who came to visit her and put on light clothes on them which shown that they were improperly dressed: Aishah said to them: "If indeed you are believing women, then truly this is not the dress of the believing women, and if you are not believing women, then enjoy it." The above statement from shown that any Muslim sister who puts on Hijab with clear intention is a believing woman.  Also, It is important to understand several points related to hijab and modesty. The first point is that modesty had been the norm in history, up until the later part of the past century. If one were to peruse h...

POEM: The Beauty Of The Hijab By Hafeezoh Adekola

Image
To the shoulder that never let my clothes look unkempt; To the neck that never let my head fall apart; To the moon that brighten my night; To the star that lighten my world. What can I compare you with? For you're a blessing from above; As no one could juxtapose your efficiency; Regardless if their views towards you. You're the shelter that makes a complete feminine; For you alone promise eternity winter; After a lifetime summer; For you've been endowed with impeccable character. You begin to wonder why your disgrace turns to grace; You begin to wonder why your assault turns to revolt; The curiosity itself makes up its uniqueness. ©Hafeezoh Adekola

World Hijab Day: An Open Letter To My Muslim Sisters By Nusaybah Shuaib-Osunleke.

One's dignity may be assaulted, vandalised and cruelly mocked, but it can never been taken away unless it's surrendered. To all the Muslimahs out there, spare me some of your golden time. I invite you to accompany me into my heart and find out who we really are. Dignity- a word that seems not to fit in the society again. It's said when a society is bad or good, the woman in there determines that. We are women with dignity, mother of all generation, a worthy one who has been honored even by the most high. It saddens my heart how we prefer the erode stares, unwanted male attention, cat calls, wolf whistles to innuendo and sexual harassment, to a guy who lower his gaze and greet with so much respect. My sisters to be a covered pearl is not easy it takes a lot but the at the end we own the trophy of success. It's so beautiful to be different from others because you're better off millions of women out there. Why would you prefer to be with a man to be looked a...
