Parents and teachers across Nigeria have been called upon to make the upbringing of their children a priority in order to secure a better future for them.  A Non-Governmental Organization, GuidedSouls Initiative stated this on Sunday during her annual Parents/Teachers Forum held at NULGE House, Ilesa Garage in Osogbo, Osun State. One of the leading Islamic organizations in Nigeria, The Muslim Congress (TMC) Ile Ife branch has held her 23rd Annual Ramadan Lecture.  The Ramadan Lecture which was held at Enuwa Central Mosque on Sunday in Ile Ife was attended by scores of dignitaries across the nation.  The lecture, which was tagged 'Nation Building: Prophetic Method' was delivered by Imam Sherifdeen Ibrahim, Naibul Amir Dawah Affairs, TMC National Headquarters. According to Imam Sherifdeen Ibrahim, he urged Nigerian Muslims to always think of ways to contribute their quota to the development of the Country, irrespective of their socio-economic background. Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto has declared Thursday as the first day for the beginning of the Ramadan fasting in Nigeria. Sultan Abubakar announced the sighting of the new crescent in Sokoto on Wednesday in a broadcast. According to the statement, "His Eminence has received positive sighting reports of the Ramadan crescent from various locations nationwide. Thursday, 23rd March, is the first day of Ramadan  The standard announcement is coming soon"

As part of the moves to ensure that Muslims are medically fit to observe Ramadan fasting, a reputable Non-Governmental Organization, The Zenith Pathfinders on Sunday organised a free medical screening, consultations and counselling for over 200 Muslim men, women and children in Adiyan Muslim Community, Agbado Oja in Ogun state.  It was learnt that the free medical screening which was held at 296, Orodu Road at Ilese Bus Stop, Adiyan in Agbado Oja was aimed at making the Muslims in the community to be medical fit for Ramadan fasting.  It was further learnt that the healthcare package that were given to the Adiyan Muslim Community included, free check of blood pressure, sugar test, as well as specialist consultation giving required prescriptions and drugs to people. In a bid to also alleviate the suffering of the less privileged, The Zenith Pathfinders also donated household item, shoes and cloths among other items to the Muslims....

Al-Mumin (AM) Schools, Alakuko, Lagos state on Wednesday held its 7th  biennial inter-house sport competition amid jubilation and celebrations among pupils, parents and staff of the school.  The school located at 23A, Agas Road, Alakuko and 11, Nureni Akintola Street, Alagbado, Lagos State came to live as pupils from different schools within the community engaged in different sporting activities. The Council of Higher Institutions, an organ of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit,has unveiled its plan to train none less than 1000 students of tertiary institutions across its four (4) zones in Lagos State. In a statement by the Coordinator of the Organ, AbdulHafeez Odusanya, the Capacity Building Course is one of the annual events of the COHI  aimed at empowering, enlightening and equipping  students with intellectual tools required for modern labour market  and their respective mundane life. The management of Dpath to Jannah media hub has announced a plan to launch the 7th Edition of The Pen Magazine which will be released on the 25th of March, 2023.  Speaking with newsmen on Tuesday evening, the Chief Editor of the magazine, Barakat Oyewole said the magazine which will focus on the theme of Hijab and Rape is meant to create awareness about Hijab.
